On April 11, a plane fr om China will deliver the first batch of medical supplies such as reagent kits needed for laboratory PCR tests and COVID-19 diagnostics.

“The reagent kits that we purchased for over UAH 50 million will be enough to test one million Ukrainians for coronavirus. The reagents will be delivered to all regions wh ere there are specialized laboratories under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Currently, there are 26 such laboratories in Ukraine: two in Kyiv and one in each region,” says Oleksandr Priadukhin, Silpo’s Retail Sales Director.

Silpo made the purchase in cooperation with the President's Office.

"The President's Office is working hard to organize both the procurement and logistics of PCR and rapid tests, personal protective equipment, masks, medical equipment and other goods essential to combat the spread of the coronavirus. We are grateful to all socially responsible companies, representatives of large and medium-sized businesses, who have responded promptly to the call of President Volodymyr Zelensky helping to combat the pandemic. Thanks to our efforts, we will surely win,” says Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and Secretary of the Coordination Council for Combating the Spread of COVID-19.

In total, the Ukrainian supermarket network Silpo has allocated UAH 100 million for the purchase of equipment for hospitals and medicines.
